Beginner's Jefferson Nickel Collecting Kit

This Jefferson Nickel Bundle is the perfect learning opportunity during quarantine to spark a new hobby: the wonderful world of coin collecting.

The Jefferson Nickel was first struck by the U.S. Mint in 1938 and was a replacement for the Buffalo Nickel. This nickel was in use during wartime, from the years 1942-1945. During this time, the Jefferson Nickel was minted with silver in order to preserve the metal nickel for the war effort. The U.S. Mint produced the Jefferson Nickel at three separate facilities: Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco. The mintmark location identifying the striking facility was moved to different areas of the coin over the years (and some have no mintmark), presenting a nice challenge for beginning to intermediate coin collectors. This is the perfect coin to test your coin collecting skills, and also presents a great opportunity for parents to introduce the concepts of "grading" and "condition." You will also enjoy searching for some classic wartime silver nickels, which are occasionally dispersed among these bags.

See if you can find all the dates in the collecting folder!

Included in this bundle:

* 200 Jefferson Nickels, with the chance of finding the special World War II issue Silver Nickels
* Whitman Coin Collecting Folder to hold your nickels from 1938-1961 in order by date and mintmark
* Canvas Bank Bag
